Map what you do today
List the HR processes you run and who does each. Note where information is retyped, where approvals happen by message and where documents are kept on paper.
Fix the data first
A system is only as good as its records. Clean the employee list before moving it: duplicates, wrong dates and missing identity numbers cause problems later.
Digitise in an order that pays back
- Employee records and documents
- Leave and attendance
- Approvals
- Payroll, once the inputs are reliable
- Reporting
Keep your own rules
Configure the system to match your policies rather than changing policy to suit the tool. Where your process is poor, improve it deliberately, not by accident.
Bring people with you
Train managers and employees. Self-service reduces HR workload only if people know it exists and trust it.
